The award will be yearly. At present the plan is to hold the award ceremony with the second MCP event (with a possible gala night).

Africa Foundation For Young Media Professionals is a media skills/career development organization based in Nigeria with projected regional and operational country offices across Africa

Our Continental Scope

Africa Foundation for Young Media Professionals is a Pan African non- profit initiative established to raise the standard  of media professional practice in Africa beginning from Nigeria. It is entirely a Media Skill Development, Mentoring, Debate, Awards and discussion platform with the aim of creating budding raw materials that will equip the upcoming and middle level/established media professionals in Africa media industry. 70% of the organization’s activities is targeted at students of media, communications and Public Relations while 30% will be focused on upcoming/young media practitioners of 5 years and below.

The headquarters is based in Nigeria with projected offices in Nairobi Kenya, Johannesburg South Africa and New York USA.

Operations(Strategy, tactics)

-Form alliances with credible media, Media skills development organizations in planning, execution, marketing of the projects and services.

– Build alliances with different media student associations especially in tertiary institutions in Nigeria and Africa for ease of project planning, execution especially for media clinics.

Our Team


Director of Communications and Project

Yinka Olaito , a communications and media specialist who had served as communications and media consultant, trainer for various profits and non profits in Banks, Oil regulatory, NGOS, Printing, Telecoms affiliated companies, United Nations Agencies in Africa and had led Skye Bank Media skills development CSR initiative for media personnel across Nigeria. Yinka Olaito has over 2 decades experience, a decade of this experience had seen him served as a columnist, Op-ed and online writings.
Yinka holds Master of arts degree in Communications, media and public relations of University of Leicester UK,a postgraduate diploma in Public Administration and a bachelor of Arts degree from Delta and Ogun(now olabisi onabanjo) universities. Yinka is a chartered public relations practitioner, trainer and had attended various journalism, global diplomacy, strategic management courses organized by universities of Melbourne Australia, Michingan, Virginia,Northwestern(USA), University of London as well as Thomson Foundation UK


Communications Manager

Seye is an astute, versatile and passionate business professional with skills in the area of Brand Management, Marketing Communications, Customer Service and Business Strategy. He has about 15 years cumulative work experience(both as a consultant and an in-house practitioner) in different areas of business including Business development, Brand Identity Development &Management, Advertising
Seye is an adjunct lecturer at the department of Mass communications, Lagos State Polytechnic/ Seye holds Master of Communication Arts of Lagos State University Nigeria


Deputy Communications Manager

Hilary Osuman is a bilingual communications and media professional with over 8 years’ experience which cuts across working at international civil service, diplomatic, non-profit making and business oriented environments.
Hilary holds Master of arts degree in Communications, media and Public relations from University of leicester, UK and a bachelor degree from Ahmadu Bello University Nigeria
